MARIE DE VILLEPIN
Le jardin retrouvé
Each work is a search, an effort to unearth what has been forgotten, a journey through the strata of time and matter.
Under Marie de Villepin's brush, the garden becomes the symbol of a lost space, almost erased, but never quite gone. At the crossroads of fragility and resilience, this exhibition questions what remains beneath the ruins: a wild flower, a laugh engraved in stone, a fragment of humanity glimpsed through the chaos.
In this garden, the artist invites us to a process of restoration: not just of shapes or colors, but of memories. Each brushstroke is an attempt at reconciliation with a fragmented past, a struggle against oblivion.
Painting on walls with holes in them, on the wind or on the water, is an attempt to retain what is fading away, and to restore the outlines of a world before the floods. In this way, Le Jardin Retrouvé is a wager on rebirth. In a world where everything seems to waver, between the stone porticoes, a garden stands, ready to be reborn.
