Meet Pat Andrea on Friday, September 19, from 6 to 7 p.m.!
Presented by the Sonia Zannettacci Gallery, the exhibition Pat Andrea, La visite surprise brings together works, paintings, and drawings by Pat Andrea, a Dutch artist who has lived between Paris and Buenos Aires since the 1970s.
Pat Andrea's view of the world around us links him to the New Subjectivity group as defined by Jean Clair, as the image he gives us is far removed from the cold representation offered by Pop Art.
His works, at the crossroads of Hyperrealism and Surrealism, imbued with extravagant visions, macabre humor, irrationality, and morbid parodies of great classical subjects, disconcert us all the more because Woman reigns supreme in them. She is the one with the power, with her long legs displayed in provocative poses and her imposing head with beautiful hair that radiates intelligence and strength. She is the one who rules the world. Pat Andrea is convinced of this and strives to express her omnipotence through drawing and painting.
