Carte blanche à John Armleder
For its 6th Carte blanche, the MAH invites John M. Armleder (Geneva, 1948), an internationally renowned artist. With a collection of over 500 of his works, the museum has found in him the ideal curator to continue a unique dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation.
Thus was born Observatoires, a thematic journey where each room explores a different universe—from animals to abstract painting, from musical instruments to lighting fixtures. By juxtaposing the MAH’s monumental architecture with its vast collection, Armleder creates a unique installation in which each object fits in a way that is as surprising as it is coherent.
Supported by ephemeral structures and layers of superimposition, the ordinary object and the aesthetic object weave a dialogue that constantly generates new possibilities; an invitation to wander so that everyone can compose their own repertoire of ideas and associations.
