Les années 1600 d'Anvers à Amsterdam
Between 1600 and 1650, painting flourished between Antwerp and Amsterdam. Antwerp, influenced by Rubens, was a major center of Baroque art, characterized by dynamic compositions and vibrant colors. Amsterdam, growing economically, saw artists like Rembrandt develop a more intimate and realistic style. These two cities competed artistically while sharing a rich Flemish and Dutch tradition.
This period laid the foundation for the artistic wealth of the Dutch Golden Age, distinguished by diverse genres including portraits, landscapes, and genre scenes. Salomon Lilian Gallery is showcasing several remarkable pieces for this 39th edition of Art en Vieille-Ville.
