Alluvium
Nick Verhaeghe
Belgian photographer Nick Verhaeghe has a natural ability to capture the perfect image through his lens. However, his talent goes far beyond simply staging the beauty of nature and the subjects of his portraits. Nick masters the development process himself, pushing the boundaries of photography through constant experimentation and research.
In the exhibition Alluvium, named after the sandy deposits that flow from the mountains to the sea, Nick presents his images of the Alps, ephemeral sandcastles built on beaches, and other images related to the theme.
True to his technical research, Nick expresses his impressions engraved on aluminum plates, printed in photograms developed with shrimp and seaweed, in silver and zinc sculptures, as well as developed on glass plates. The latter medium is a nod to Art Resonance Gallery's medium of choice.
