UN ART AUTRE ET AU-DELÀ

Un art autre is the term coined in 1952 by the legendary art critic Michel Tapié. It concerns the innovative developments of abstraction in post-war Paris. The artists involved were singled out around a European movement parallel to that of American abstract expressionism. In the wake of the traumatic ruptures of World War II, the artists radically deconstructed form, creating a new aesthetic rooted in dynamism, vitality and gestural freedom. This exhibition will feature works by Pierre Soulages, Hans Hartung, Georges Mathieu, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Sam Francis and Zao Wou-Ki.

We are also pleased to announce the opening of our new OPERA space at 19 Place de Longemalle in Geneva.

Located a few steps away from Opera Gallery, this new space will welcome you through a new scenography, combining post-war art, contemporary art and international design icons of the 50s, 60s and contemporary.

This new place will offer art lovers, connoisseurs and collectors the opportunity to discover works in an exceptional context and atmosphere.
