Still Life

Grob Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of “Still Life’s” in all media, paintings, works on paper, photographs and sculpture.

From the beginning of Art History “Still Life” has been one of the great themes along with portraits, landscapes and nudes. Exhibition we will present over the next season or two.
This exhibition includes amongst others, masterpieces by Picasso, a group of unique ceramics, Mondrian’s Chrysanthemum of 1909, and an extraordinary group of photographs by the sculptor Constantin Brancusi. Brancusi’s still life photographs are almost completely unknown and this will be the first time that 8 of the 16-known works will be exhibited. Brancusi made these works as gifts for his lovers.

British Artist Marc Quinn is also represented by the Bronze Orchid on the Quai Wilson, Geography of Desire (2011), still visible until the end of March, as well as a sculpture and two large paintings at the gallery.

Other artists included in the exhibition are, Nobuyoshi Araki, Marcel Bovis, Andre Kertész, Sarah Lucas, Rodrigo Moynihan, Grégoire Müller, Roger Parry, Irving Penn and Emmanuel Sougez.
