Pierre Alechinsky has always left his hand free to do as he pleased. But his hand is intelligent, clever and light. It knows what it is doing. Here, loops, serpentines, waves, zigzags, undulations have drawn a new alphabet, an alphabet of freedom.
The 26 monotypes with marginal remarks underlining the central image that make up this Alechinskyan alphabet form the heart of the exhibition, which is complemented by paintings and prints in marginalia.
