Lumières

The "Lumières" exhibition will present a selection of lamps, floor lamps, wall lamps, chandeliers, candle holders and candle holders dating from the 1920s to today in dialogue with photographs and art deco and design furniture from the 1960s and 1970s.

Numerous materials will be highlighted, for example the Baccarat crystal or the chromed metal of Jacques Adnet's lamps and chandeliers from the 1930s, which will cohabit with the patinated bronze of a "woman's head" lamp created by Alberto Giacometti for Jean-Michel Frank, or the fragility of a pair of Arlus floor lamps from the 1950s which will contrast with the solidity of Ramsay's gilded wrought iron floor lamps or the magic of a pair of Bohemian crystal candle holders by Kiko Lopez from 2021 which are reminiscent of the rare modernist "luminous trinkets" of the Maison Desny from the 1920s.
