Barbier-Mueller Museum

L’ART DE DÔNG SON D’ASIE DU SUD-EST
dans les collections Barbier-Mueller

The next exhibition at the Barbier-Mueller Museum will be devoted to the arts of the Dông Son culture, a bronze civilization that flourished in northern Vietnam and southern China between the 4th century BCE and the 3rd century CE.
Early on, Jean Paul Barbier-Mueller was seduced by the delicate workmanship and subtle decoration of situlae, drums, daggers, utensils and ornaments reflecting a refined culture. He assembled an exceptional collection of objects from Dong Son that the museum will present, for the first time for certain pieces, accompanied by a catalog.
